Runners
Does a 2:29 marathon guarantee that I'll get you better and back running?  No.

Will it allow me the insight to see the big picture?  Yes!

Question one is "Where are we in your training?"

Physiology doesn't change if you answer, "I leave for Boston in two weeks."  However, the plan will greatly differ from the scenario that has you four months out from your target race.  In the former, I'll throw all my tools at the problem to put bandages on it to get you to the start line...but you owe me.  You owe me that same focus after the race to proactively address those issues that have led to the injury.  In the latter, there are more options and variables to play with. Again, I will use aggressive treatment, but I might alter your training to take pressure off the injured tissue. Avoiding hills or not wearing spikes, coupled with treatment, may bring the symptoms under control.  Rest is relative.

· Information allows us to form a plan together to make the best out of a bad situation.  I've been there when the stress reliever (running) becomes the stressor (a running injury).
